Sachem East wrestling coach Isaac Ramaswamy was presented with a plaque for his induction to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame prior to the dual meet between Sachem East and Sachem North during the annual Joe Davidson Memorial Tournament on Wednesday.
Ramaswamy, a Sachem alum who was an alternate during the 1996 Olympics in wrestling, was formally inducted to the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014, but this plaque was presented because it will now hang proudly in the wrestling room at Sachem East.
Former Sachem coaching legend Jack Mahoney, also a member of the national hall, was on-hand to present Ramaswamy with the plaque.
