The fifth grade Leadership Council students at Wenonah Elementary School organized Project H.O.P.E. (Help Our Pets Everywhere) to collect cat and dog supplies for donation to the Smithtown Animal Shelter.
The students made contact with the shelter, advertised the drive by making posters for the building and announcements in the cafeteria and classrooms.
Their efforts really paid off with over ten boxes of supplies of food, blankets, towels and treats collected for the shelter.
In their words, “it was a holiday gift for our furry friends.”
