The National Junior Honor Society at Samoset Middle School collected new and gently used coats during the month of December.
The students made signs to hang in the building and collected donated coats each morning from the generous members of the school community.
They happily donated more than one dozen huge bags of coats to St. John’s church on Coates Avenue in Holbrook.
The school’s liaison at the church stated that she receives coats each year from Island Harvest to donate to those in need, but she actually ran out of coats this year and desperately needed more. She was thrilled to receive Samoset’s donation.
