Malik Pierre picked up right where he left off at Sachem North.
The red shirt freshman at LIU Post continued his electric play at running back and was selected to the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team for his efforts this season.
Pierre, who graduated from Sachem in 2014, helped lead the Flaming Arrows to their first football Long Island championship in school history in 2013. He graduated as one of the top players in program history, ranking third all-time in career rushing yards (2,686), first in yards per carry (11.10) and second in career interceptions (10).
Opening the season and his college career with an immediate impact, Pierre recorded 117 rushing yards and 213 kick return yards in a Week 1 victory over East Stroudsburg. He had 238 rushing yards against Stonehill, 96 against Merrimack and 108 against Pace.
Pierre finished the season with 737 rushing yards and 1,231 all-purpose yards, good enough for the fifth highest total in the conference.
