The career-highs continue to pile up for Sachem alum Dalton Crossan during his junior season at the University of New Hampshire.
Given the ball as the team’s featured back and do-it-all threat on offense and special teams, Crossan is relishing his time in the spotlight.
He was named Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for his career-best four-touchdown performance against Elon last weekend.
He recorded career highs in rushes (22), and rushing yards (140) and had 177 all-purpose yards in the victory. This marked the first time he reached the 100-yard plateau in rushing during his career.
“Starting off I think we ran the ball very well, passed the ball very well,” Crossan said in a game recap on the UNH athletic website. “Our offensive linemen blocked unbelievably in my opinion. They really opened up some holes for us to get going. We had a great first half, a really fast start which is good and we always preach that around here.”
Crossan leads New Hampshire in a number of statistical categories this season, including rushing attempts (76), rushing yards (407), rushing touchdowns (7), receptions (19), kick returns (10), kick return yards (247), total touchdowns (8) and all-purpose yards (769).
Crossan’s eight touchdowns are tied for the lead in the CAA, while his 151.8 all-purpose yards per game average is tops in the conference. That same average is good enough for No. 13 in the nation at the FCS level.
