It’s homecoming week in Sachem! Here’s some information about upcoming festivities that kick off on Friday night at Sachem North and carry over onto Saturday at Sachem East …
SACHEM NORTH
- The Sachem North Student Government will be sponsoring the 56th annual Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 2. This year’s theme will be honoring our brave military personnel around the world.
- The parade will be a short walk starting at Samoset Middle School at 5:30 p.m. heading along Burma Road to the 9/11 memorial in the front of Sachem North. Those involved in the procession will take a moment to reflect at the monument and the Symphonic Choir will sing our National Anthem and the Sachem Fight Song. All are encouraged to sing along and we will provide music sheets as well as American flags.
- The homecoming football game will begin at 7 p.m. at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium against Ward Melville High School.
- A special addition to the weekend is the 20th anniversary reunion of Sachem’s 1995 Suffolk County Championship football team, which will be honored during the homecoming game.
SACHEM EAST
- The parade will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 at Independence Hill and travel down to Granny Road in front of Tecumseh.
- There is a strong line up of Sachem community youth and sports organizations participating.
- The homecoming football game will begin at 6 p.m. against Bay Shore High School.
