Sachem alum Katie Mollot has been promoted to associate head coach of the Hofstra University women’s lacrosse team.
Mollot, who is the program’s recruiting and offensive coordinator, is in her fourth year with the Pride.
“This a very deserving promotion for Katie and we are thrilled that she is part of the Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse coaching staff,” Hofstra head coach Shannon Smith said in a statement. “Katie has been an integral part of our staff over the last three years and has played a meaningful role in the development of our student-athletes on and off the field. We are excited for the future successes of Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse with Katie on staff.”
Mollot has been part of a staff that is transforming the women’s lacrosse program at Hofstra. Last year the Pride won the Colonial Athletic Association regular season title, and the program has qualified for the conference tournament each of the last three years.
Prior to joining the staff at Hofstra, Mollot coached at Farmingdale and Colgate.
She played at Towson University and appeared in two NCAA Tournaments during her college career.
