The Sachem Central School District recently accepted a donation of 200 Hewlett Packard laptops valued at $17,500 from the Comp4Kids organization.
Sachem ELL students will benefit the donation spearheaded by Jon Zimmerman from Comp4Kids, which provides free refurbished laptops to low income children, high-need school districts, and other charitable organizations which service at-risk families an individuals.
According to the organization’s website, Comp4Kids improves the lives of children and young adults by providing these families with access to computers and the training necessary to implement this technology into their daily lives.
Comp4Kids works with numerous school districts, public libraries, and pre-schools in the tri-state area.
