Craig Geoghan will play in another college bowl game.
Fresh off his appearance in the FCS National Bowl, he’ll have an opportunity to show scouts his ability at quarterback in the Globe Bowl in Allentown, PA this weekend.
Geoghan, who played at Sachem North, Nassau Community College and Stony Brook University, was 7-for-11 in the National Bowl and orchestrated a 76-yard drive that resulted in a 6-yard touchdown pass.
There will be a combine where players are tested on individual areas like the 40-yard dash and bench press and then the actual bowl game, where he is expected to play quarterback.
The goal is to sign a professional contract.
“I’m confident in my ability to play well no matter who it’s against, but whether or not I get a call isn’t up to me,” he said. “I’m hopeful though. I usually put up good numbers at combines, so I plan to do the same thing. Then when we play the game two days later, I plan to cut myself loose much more this time. Run when I have to, and let the ball fly… I’ve got nothing to lose.”
