Tecumseh Elementary School hosted a “Readers as Leaders” program in March.
Influential figures from the community came to the school to read books to classes throughout the building.
Among the readers were Sachem Superintendent James Nolan, Sachem Board of Education President Sal Tripi, and Sachem East Principal Lou Antonetti.
Also making appearances were Newsday sportswriter Tom Rock, children’s author John Peel, and community and education advocate Sal Nicosia, among many others.
Students had the opportunity to ask questions to the leaders about their lives and careers before they listened to the stories that were read.
