More than 25 members of the Sachem East History Club traveled to West Babylon High School for the History Bowl Long Island Championship last month.
Sachem East had four varsity teams of juniors and seniors and one JV team of 10th graders competing.
Participation was coordinated by History Honor Society President, Jeffrey Bai. Seniors Anthony Mulieri and Karl Mulieri also took leadership positions and officiated at the event along with Bai.
“Each team won a round of the competition and although they didn’t advance to the finals, the kids had a great time and displayed a level of enthusiasm and sportsmanship that others recognized and complimented,” said Tracey Melandro, History Club/History Honor Society Advisor.
