The Sachem North girls bowling team placed third in the New York State championships over the weekend in Syracuse.
Courtney Scholl and Amanda Naujokas told Newsday that they adjusted to the oil patterns on Syracuse’s Strike ‘N Spare Lanes by decreasing their speed and switching balls.
Scholl placed first overall with a 197.17 average during the finals.
“It was more of a realization that we needed to make this adjustment now,” said Scholl in an interview with Newsday.
