The Sachem North boy’s varsity basketball team and coaching staff participated in a community service initiative assisting at Long Island Cares on Saturday.
Founded by the late Harry Chapin, Long Island Cares brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry on Long Island, and provides humanitarian needs for the community.
On Saturday, the Flaming Arrows spent the morning sorting children’s toys that have been donated to the Long Island Cares facility, and then boxed the toys by age group.
“We appreciate the opportunity given to us by Long Island Cares,” said Sachem North basketball coach Tom Mullee. “It is a great way for our program to give back to the community that supports us.”
