Sachem North captured a Suffolk County boys volleyball championship on Thursday afternoon.
The top-seeded Flaming Arrows beat No. 2 Bay Shore, 3-0, at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood.
Sachem is a perfect 16-0 this season and has not lost a single set, standing at an impressive 48-0. The final score was 25-21, 25-17, 25-19.
Dylan Missry led Sachem with 21 kills and four aces.
“We’ve worked so hard for this, and to win it in three sets makes it that much better,” Missry told Newsday.
Next up is the Long Island championship, which will be held Saturday, November 8 at 2 p.m. also at Suffolk West in Brentwood. Sachem will play Plainview JFK.
This marks the second straight year a Sachem school has won a volleyball title. Sachem East won a Suffolk County and Long Island title last season. Sachem North’s previous county championship win was in 2000.
