It is with great sadness, and the heaviest of hearts that we inform you of the passing of one of Sachem’s best and brightest. Paul Ryan DiIorio, a 2008 Sachem East Alum, succumbed to his battle with cancer this week.
Paul was truly one of the best we have ever had walk the halls of Sachem. A warrior on the wrestling mat, and a gentleman and a scholar off the mat, Paul epitomized everything a student-athlete strives to be and he will be greatly missed.
Paul will long be remembered for his leadership as a team captain, his tenacity as a competitor, his work ethic, and his compassion for all around him. He has left his stamp on all those who knew him and we are all better people for having him in our lives. It is this legacy that Paul has left on his friends and family that will live on.
Paul’s mom Jeanette works as a clerical sub for Sachem.
