Sachem North senior Jake Castorf has committed to play Division II lacrosse at Franklin Pierce.
Castorf, an attackman/midfielder, was also considering New York Institute of Technology, Molloy and Sacred Heart.
He ultimately chose Franklin Pierce because of its proximity to Long Island, as well as the academic offerings. He hopes to be a physical therapist.
“Jake is a great kid,” said Sachem coach Jay Mauro. “He came to the varsity this past spring and made an instant impact. He was used on the top two midfield lines and was on man up. We are hoping for a great year from Jake.”
Asked what his goals are this year at Sachem and Castorf said to have a strong academic standing first, but also to, “make a huge impact on the field in hopes of a championship.”
