Dozens of Sachem elementary and middle school students took part in Camp Sachem this year.
Students experienced a number of art, science and technology projects and lessons, among other core interdisciplinary areas of study, at this year’s camp.
Camp sachem is a fun filled, full-day program. During each two-week session, the students participate in hands on classes such as robotics, cooking, architecture, science and many others. Each class is taught by a certified teacher and a camp counselor. Campers gain new knowledge, such as how to cook delicious meals, how to use technology, and how to work together as a part of a team.
Lead teachers Jessica Williams and Carissa Hagan ran the camp.
Williams: “Summer Enrichment Camp is a great balance of creative learning and fun experiences for the students. They get to leave each day with wonderful memories as well as academic projects that they’ve completed in class. It is a terrific experience for everyone.”
Hagan: “Camp Sachem is a great place for students to spend their summer – students have the opportunity to learn new skills while building new friendships and having fun!”
