Multiple student-athletes from the baseball programs at Sachem East and Sachem North were recognized as All-County and All-League at the annual Suffolk County Baseball Coaches Association dinner at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook, N.Y. on Tuesday night.
Sachem North had three All-County selections, while both programs combined to have nine All-League selections.
The All-Long Island and All-State selections will be released by Newsday and the New York State Sportswriters Association, respectively, by the end of the month.
Sachem North’s Steven Foster was named League II MVP, while Sachem North’s Dennis Buckstein took home League II Pitcher of the Year honors.
Sachem coach Tom Gambino, who was recognized with a 10-year service honor as a head coach, was named League II Coach of the Year.
Sachem East coach Kevin Schnupp was also recognized for his 10 years of service as a head coach.
