The faculty and staff of Samoset Middle School participated in the “Jeans for Troops” Fundraiser to benefit the GI Go Fund last week.
The GI GO Fund is an organization which assists returning veterans with their transition back to civilian life, by providing employment and educational opportunities as well as providing a direct path to their benefits.
Samoset was able to raise a total of $551 through the sale of snacks during the students’ lunch periods and a $5 donation from faculty in order to wear jeans.
Ms. Fahie, who helped organize the event said, “The students of Samoset really got behind the fund raising effort. We have really great kids here at Samoset.”
