Sachem alum Kyle Rhatigan scored one goal and added two assists for Limestone as the Saints captured the NCAA Division II National Championship beating LIU Post, 12-6, Sunday in Baltimore.
Rhatigan, who joins a growing list of district alums to win national lacrosse titles, scored late in the third period against Post to add some cushion to Limestone’s lead.
He was Limestone’s leading scorer this season with 70 points (36 goals, 34 assists) as a sophomore. The Saints finished 19-1.
As a senior at Sachem in 2012, he was All-County and led the Flaming Arrows in points (73) and assists (35), ranking in the top 25 in scoring on Long Island.
The win marks Limestone’s third National Championship in program history.
