Sachem North’s lacrosse season came to an end Friday in the Suffolk County Class A semifinals.
Smithtown East got the best of the Flaming Arrows in a 17-11 defeat at Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium.
It was the second time in the last three years that Sachem has competed in a lacrosse semifinal. The Flaming Arrows (14-4) have not won a boys lacrosse title since 1995.
Sachem’s 14 wins ties the single-season high under coach Jay Mauro.
Smithtown East (15-3) will host West Islip in the county final on Wednesday at Stony Brook.
