On Monday, top-seeded Sachem North beat Smithtown West, 5-3, when Mike O’Donnell scored on a go-ahead run on an error in the sixth inning. The Flaming Arrows had been trailing prior to that inning, which saw Sachem score three runs.

Sachem (19-4) advances to the fourth round of the consolation bracket against No. 3 Ward Melville on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

O’Donnell had doubled in the sixth inning as well, scoring James Griffith to tie the score.

Steven Foster was 3-for-3 in the contest. Dennis Buckstein received the victory on the mound, striking out five and allowing just one earned run.

The winner of Wednesday’s game will play on Thursday against either Commack or Kings Park.
