Here’s a recap on some recent Sachem playoff games that have happened in the last few days:
Sachem North Baseball: The Flaming Arrows beat Longwood, 3-1, on Friday and advance to the fourth round of the Suffolk County Class AA playoffs against No. 6 Smithtown west on Monday. Nick Morena pitched a four-hitter and had seven strikeouts.
Sachem North Softball: Sachem lost to Bay Shore, 6-1, in an outbracket game and was eliminated from playoff contention.
Sachem East Softball: Sachem had good efforts from Alexandra Laird (4-for-5), Katie Tibbetts (3-for-4) and Marissa Wilson (3-for-5) in a first round playoff win over Kings Park. The Arrows won, 6-1. They advance to play in the quarterfinals against either North Babylon or Connetquot Monday at 4 p.m.
Sachem North Boys Lacrosse: Will play Wednesday against either Hauppauge or Hills East.
Sachem East Boys Lacrosse: Will play Monday at West Islip in a first round game starting at 2:30 p.m.
Sachem North Girls Lacrosse: The Flaming Arrows were eliminated from the playoffs after losing, 19-7, to No. 6 Bay Shore on Friday.
Sachem East Girls Lacrosse: No. 5 Sachem beat Longwood, 11-8, in the first round of the Suffolk playoffs. Katie Shanahan led the Arrows with five goals. They’ll play No. 4 Middle Country on Monday.
Sachem East and North Girls Track and Field: 5/19 & 21 Division Championships, Connetquot HS, 3 pm
Sachem East and North Boys Track and Field: 5/20 & 22 – Division Championships, Longwood HS, 3 pm
