VOTE! The Sachem Schools budget vote and board election will be on Tuesday, May 20.
Here’s a look at some information about the 2014-2015 proposed Sachem Central School District budget:
Proposition 1: The budget vote
Proposition 2: Sachem currently uses the seat method of voting: a person who wants to run for the Board of Education must declare which seat they are running for at the time that they submit their petitions. An “At-Large” method has candidates submit petitions without having to specifically run against someone. Each community member can vote for up to three candidates. The three candidates receiving the highest number of votes are elected.
