Top-seeded Sachem North is tied with No. 8 West Islip, 7-7, in the seventh inning during the second round of the Suffolk County Class AA baseball playoffs.
The game was suspended due to darkness Wednesday afternoon and will resume on Thursday at 4 p.m. in Lake Ronkonkoma.
Trailing in the game, West Islip put up five runs to take the lead in late innings. The Flaming Arrows (17-3) got timely hitting and base runners and scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Sachem’s Ryan Felskey held West Islip scoreless in the final two innings.
In the bottom of the seventh, Dennis Buckstein drew a walk. Mike Kochen pinch ran for Buckstein.
On a 3-2 count, Mike O’Donnell ripped a double down the left-field line to the fence, scoring Kochen to tie the game before it was suspended.
