This team has some fight in it. No matter the game, no matter the opponent, Sachem East can rally when it needs to.
The third-seeded Arrows took down undefeated No. 2 Huntington, 58-55, in the Suffolk County Class AA semifinals at Smithtown East High School Friday evening.
Sachem East (15-6) will play top-seeded North Babylon (20-1) on Monday in the championship. The game will be played at SUNY Farmingdale, a neutral site, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Each quarter was a battle. Sachem East led by one point after the first quarter and first half and the point differential didn’t waiver too much in the second half against the Blue Devils, who regularly compete in League IV.
Kathleen Everson led all scorers with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Katie Doherty scored 19 points and pulled in six rebounds. Jordan Pamlanye had 12 points.
Sachem East won Suffolk County and Long Island championships in 2010 and 2013.
