The Sachem North football program was honored by the Suffolk County Legislature on Tuesday morning.
Sachem coach Dave Falco and a number of his players were presented with a proclamation honoring their championship season.
“I look around the room and see young men with bright futures ahead of them,” said Suffolk County Leg. Muratore. “Because they are fortunate to have a leader like Coach Falco, they have learned the importance of team work and perseverance. Congratulations to the Flaming Arrows on this fine accomplishment, and to Coach Dave Falco for the well-deserved honor of being named New York State Coach of the Year.”
Sachem North won the program’s first Class I Long Island championship this past fall.
This is the second government honor the team has been given in recent months. In December the Flaming Arrows were at Brookhaven Town Hall and received recognition from the town board.
They will also be heading to Albany to be recognized by the New York State Senate sometime soon as well.
