Three senior captains, who have combined for more than 300 victories in their careers, kept their Sachem wrestling legacies alive with league titles Saturday night at Northport High School.
Matt Stallone, Matt Marino and Sean O’Hagan all won championships in their respective weight classes.
Stallone, who beat Connetquot’s Sean Miller, 6-3, won his second straight League II championship.
He joins some legendary Sachem company by becoming just the fifth wrestler in program history to be named All-League four times. Others to achieve the feat include Frank Sokolowski, Chris Iorio, Brandon Hegarty and Wayne Wilson.
Marino also won his second straight league championship with a 5-3 victory over Hekmat Naeemi.
O’Hagan now has three league titles under his belt after a close 1-0 win over Connetquot’s Eddie Hart.
Sachem North’s runner ups were Anthony DiMatteo, Austin Gatti, Anthony Nunziatta and Frank Gallante.
Bobby Turner placed third and Ken Oberlies and Brian Barry placed fourth.
All-League wrestlers qualify for the Suffolk County Division I wrestling tournament next weekend at Hofstra University.
