Sachem North senior Mike Kearns has carried his winning ways from the football field into his winter track season.
A key cog as a lineman on Sachem’s Long Island championship squad, Kearns is also now the owner of Sachem’s record in the shotput in track and field. He threw for 54’3.75 last week at the Stanner Games in New York City, just a couple of weeks after reaching his previous personal best of 52’9.25.
The original Sachem record was set by Tom Farrell during the 1982-1983 season and held for 31 years.
