For the second consecutive year, Sachem East’s Katie Trombetta has been named a First Team All-American in field hockey.
Trombetta, a two-time Long Island Player of the Year, is headed to Michigan on field hockey scholarship. She led Long Island with 38 points as a senior and was the main force in Sachem East’s dynasty run the last three years that amounted to two state titles, and three Long Island and Suffolk County crowns.
She was also All-State, All-Long Island, All-County and All-Division again this year.
She was the only player from New York to receive First Team honors.
Trombetta will play varsity lacrosse this spring along with her sister Cara who recently committed to play lax at Florida.
