Newsday officially announced its All-Long Island teams for fall sports this weekend and Sachem took home honors in multiple sports.
Sachem East field hockey’s Katie Trombetta was named Long Island Player of the Year. She led the Island with 38 goals as Sachem East won its third straight Long Island championship and lost in the state finals.
Sachem East volleyball’s Ryan Cole was named Suffolk County Player of the Year, while his coach Bill Kropp was named Suffolk County Coach of the Year. Cole was a valuable leader on and off the court as the Arrows stormed through Suffolk County and Long Island on an improbable run that ended in the state tournament.
After leading the Flaming Arrows to their first Long Island football championship in school history, Sachem North football coach Dave Falco was named Suffolk County Coach of the Year.
