That’s two straight weeks that William Floyd has knocked off a Sachem team in the regular season. In Week 6 it was Sachem North, and on Friday night it was Sachem East by the score of 36-15 during the Arrows’ senior night.
Sachem East opened the game with a 65-yard touchdown pass from Danny Wolff to Chris Monteiro to take a 7-0 lead early, and hung in during the first half only trailing 15-7 at halftime.
William Floyd is now 5-2 this season after starting the year with two losses in their first few games.
With the loss, Sachem East drops to 2-5 this season and has one regular season game left at Brentwood next Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m.
Even with a potential 3-5 record, the Arrows could make the playoffs as a No. 7 or No. 8 seed. The brackets will be set by Section XI shortly after the regular season ends. While the records count, power points play a big role in how the final rundown looks. Eight teams qualify for the post-season, and Sachem East has made the playoffs the last two years.
