Sachem alum Dalton Crossan was named Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for his efforts in New Hampshire’s 29-28 victory over No. 11 Villanova last weekend.
Crossan displayed his wide range of abilities in the victory, catching a reception for 16 yards, and returning two kickoffs for 46 yards.
One 35-yard kick return in the fourth quarter put the Wildcats in good field position to make a game-winning drive with 1:02 remaining.
So far this season Crossan has recorded 15 carries, 181 yards (12.1 yards per rush) and 2 touchdowns on the ground, plus 5 catches, 56 yards (11.2 yards per catch) in the air, and has returned 7 kickoffs for 132 yards (18.9 yards per return).
The Wildcats are 3-3 this season heading into Saturday’s game on Long Island against Stony Brook. Crossan will return home to play in front of friends and family for the first time since graduating from Sachem in 2011. His last game for the Flaming Arrows was at Stony Brook’s LaValle Stadium in the Suffolk County Division I championship.
