Friday Night Lights. Homecoming. Fred Fusaro Alumni Stadium. The only two remaining undefeated teams in Suffolk County’s Division I. Enough said.
Sachem North hosts Commack Friday night for a highly anticipated contest between two of the top teams in the county. Sachem will bring its potent offense as usual and will look to add to its record totals in points and yards this season. Commack began the 2013 season ranked No. 10 in pre-season polls and has utilized its strength of schedule to stay ahead of the curve and ride its talent to an undefeated mark at this point.
Sachem North’s opponents through the first four weeks have a combined record of 7-9, while Commack’s opponents are 3-13.
Commack will bring 6-4 LB/TE Josh Valentine to the party, along with senior quarterback Rob Paccione, and running back Willy Monroy.
Sachem quarterback Trent Crossan did not play last week against Northport with an ankle injury and will be questionable heading into Friday. Malik Pierre has been on a tear this season, and Anthony Ross and Kevin Bragaglia have been equally as effective when they touch the ball.
Never unnoticed, but unsung in many ways are Sachem’s linebackers Justin Rivera and George Carrion. Always loud and always proud, you can expect them to be playing with tons of emotion and swagger Friday during homecoming.
It’s weapons galore as usual for the Flaming Arrows.
