Put aside the 1-3 records. Saturday night’s game at Sachem East has all the makings to be a good football game. Both Sachem East and Longwood are hungry and will need a win to keep their playoff chances higher. It helps that it’s homecoming for Sachem East, under the lights.
East is also running on the newfound abilities of Phil Brum out of the backfield. He broke onto the scene last week against Hills East with 270 rushing yards on 30 carries.
Longwood can throw it as we saw earlier in the season against Sachem North. Quarterback Matt McKeon is capable of throwing long range passes. The weather is expected to be clear so you may see him test Sachem East’s secondary. Since Isaiah White is out for the season, Deshawn Taylor is getting a bulk of the work on the ground for the Lions.
You should be anxious to see what Brum can do as an encore performance. His breakout last week may have been just what Sachem East needed as a midseason spark to jumpstart its late season push.
