Students and staff at Sachem High School North celebrated Constitution Day on Tuesday.
The National History Honor Society, led by advisor and teacher Jennifer Ogozalek, had balloons delivered during homeroom to each social studies teacher in the building.
“This triggered discussion about the 226th anniversary of Constitution Day,” said Ogozalek. “We made it a big deal about it at school today. All the kids were wishing me a Happy Constitution Day!”
Students also decorated bulletin boards with Bill of Rights Amendment posters in the school, and spent their time in class talking about the historic day.
Constitution Day celebrates the signing of the Constitution at the U.S. Constitutional Convention in 1787 in Philadelphia.
