Inside the Sachem East vs. Sachem North football rivalry
- This marked the second time the two programs opened the season against one another. Their first meeting ever in 2005 was also during Week 1.
- With the victory, Sachem North is now 5-1 all-time against Sachem East.
- Sachem North has outscored Sachem East, 188-73, all-time.
- Sachem North has held Sachem East to 6 or fewer points in three of the six meetings.
Sachem East Notes
- Sachem East is now 4-6 all-time in Week 1 games.
- Danny Wolff will be chasing program history all season. His current career totals: 89-for-185, 1,146 yards, 8 touchdowns. He needs the following totals in order to pass Sachem East alum Mike Westerhaus in all four categories: 51 completions, 93 attempts, 375 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Sachem North Notes
- Sachem North is now 29-24 in Week 1 games all-time.
- The victory marked the 60th career win for Sachem North coach Dave Falco (60-34). In comparison, through Week 1 of his 11th season in 1981, former Sachem coach Fred Fusaro had 48 career victories. He, of course, finished with 192 in 32 seasons.
- Malik Pierre and Trent Crossan both moved up the all-time Sachem rushing list with their totals from Week 1. Pierre now ranks No. 14 with 1,396 yards and Crossan is No. 17 with 1,325.
- As previously reported, Sachem kicker Bryan Morris kicked career extra point No. 122 to take the Long Island record.
- Also as mentioned, Sachem junior Kevin Bragaglia’s two interceptions allowed him to set the career interception mark at Sachem North. He now has 11.
