For the second straight season, Sachem North alum Jenna Pierro and the C.W. Post women’s lacrosse team have won the Division II National Championship.
The top-seeded Pioneers beat Limestone College, 10-7, at Mustang Stadium on the campus of Stevenson University in Maryland Sunday afternoon.
Pierro, a sophomore midfielder on the squad, scored one goal in the championship. She had 12 goals and 15 total points this season.
According to Post, this undefeated championship season marks just the fifth time any team has accomplished that in Division II women’s lacrosse history.
At Sachem, Pierro played three years of lacrosse and two years of volleyball.
