Sachem East gave up a three-run lead to Smithtown West and was eliminated from the Suffolk County Class A baseball playoffs Friday afternoon.
A two-run single from Peter Torres in the sixth inning tied the ball game, and an RBI-single from Mike Bugliarelli gave Smithtown a 4-3 lead. The Bulls won, 7-3.
The loss was the second of the playoffs for third-seeded Sachem East (16-7), who also lost in the second round to Longwood on Wednesday.
No. 12 Smithtown West (14-9) will have to traverse through the elimination bracket for the rest of the way since it too has a previous loss under its belt this post-season.
