Chippewa Elementary School students recently helped present a donation of art supplies to pediatric patients at St. Charles Hospital.
Allison Nelin, Director of the St. Charles Hospital Foundation, accepted the donation at the Holtsville school.
Led through the efforts of Mary Bernhard’s second grade class at Chippewa, the donation serves as a vital lesson and point made in the “Leader in Me” curriculum being taught across the district as part of the Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.
All 18 buildings in the Sachem Central School District have participated in the Covey leadership program since it was implemented nearly five years ago.
