Sachem alum Mike Parisi has caught on with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the Atlantic League this year after spending last season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Dodgers.
Parisi made his season debut with Bridgeport last week and recorded four innings of shutout ball. He allowed two hits, no runs and no walks. Bridgeport beat York, 1-0, on Opening Day last Thursday.
Last season Parisi pitched nine games for the Albuquerque Isotopes, posing a 2.72 ERA in 43 innings. Originally drafted by the Cardinals out of Manhattan College, Parisi pitched 12 games in the big leagues with St. Louis in 2008.
Since then, he had a brief stint with the Cubs, played with the Dodgers organization for a season and a half and pitched for the Long Island Ducks in 2011. Over the course of 152 minor league starts, Mike owns a 53-49 record with a 4.27 ERA and 642 strikeouts in 849.2 innings.
