A Jets blog in the Fansided blog network wrote this week that Sachem alum Jumbo Elliott was one of the best free agent signings in Jets history. They ranked him No. 4 all-time.
Elliott, who signed with the Jets in 1996, played with Gang Green from 1996-2000, after spending the first half of his career with the Giants.
Already a Super Bowl champion with the Giants, Elliott brought his dominating presence on the offensive line across the hallway at the Meadowlands and anchored a line that charged all the way to the AFC Championship in 1998 under Bill Parcells.
The top three free agent signings in Jets history have not been written about yet.
