Sachem’s Cayuga Elementary School donated 773 pounds of food to Long Island Cares during a Superstorm Sandy food drive last month.
Cayuga Principal Matt Wells received a letter from Long Island Cares, expressing their gratitude for the generosity showed by the school.
“As a result of generous donations like yours, Long Island Cares is equipped to offer assistance through our 580 community based member agencies, through our own direct service programs and through coordinate efforts with local legislators, fire departments, schools and churches in the areas hurt by Superstorm Sandy,” wrote Paul T. Pachter, the Executive Director of Long Island Cares.
