Dalton Crossan and New Hampshire will make a trip to Long Island during the 2013 football season.

New Hampshire released its football schedule for 2013, according to head coach Sean McDonnell. The Wildcats will play at Stony Brook on Oct. 26.

Crossan spent last year as a redshirt freshman and will begin his collegiate playing career in the fall. He is slotted as one of the top running backs on the depth chart and should be an immediate impact player. Crossan dressed a number of times in 2012, but did not see action so as to preserve his redshirt.

Crossan set multiple offensive records at Sachem, including the single-season rushing mark en route to winning the school’s fourth Hansen Award as the top football player in Suffolk County.

“Our players are looking forward to another challenging season against some of the best competition in the nation,” McDonnell said in a release.  “We’re starting off against a Bowl team in Central Michigan and taking on Patriot League powers Colgate and Lehigh, so it will be a very tough non-league schedule leading into the weekly battles of the CAA.”

According to a release, the Wildcats, who compiled an 8-4 record and extended their best-in-the-nation NCAA Division I Championship streak to nine straight years in 2012, will tangle with an FBS opponent for the 11th time in 12 seasons when they square off with Central Michigan.

New Hampshire, who has won 22 of its last 24 home games, will host Colgate for its home opener for the first time since 2005.
