Steven Casali continues to add on honors to his football resume. Tuesday night he was named as an All-Metro selection in a television special aired on MSG Varsity.
Each season 26 first team selections are made. Casali, who made All-Metro as a linebacker, is one of four players from Long Island to make first team.
“This year MSG Varsity covered 185 high school football games, giving viewers the opportunity to watch these players excel throughout the fall season,” said MSG Varsity’s Mike Quick. “Each year I’m honored to recognize these talented athletes on my show for what they’ve already accomplished on the field.”
Casali has now been named All-Division, All-County, All-Long Island and All-Metro and will be an All-State selection when the New York State Sportswriters announce their nominees sometime in January.
Earlier this month Casali was named as the 63rd winner of the Hansen Award, presented to the top football player in Suffolk County, as well as the winner of the Collatta Award (linebacker), Cipp Award (running back) and Burnett Award (Long Island Defensive Player of the Year).
