Samoset Student Government sponsored a charity volleyball game to benefit the families affected by Hurricane Sandy last week.
With the help of over 80 teacher-volunteers, the event raised close to $4,000. All money will be given to families in the Sachem community.
More than 350 students and their parents watched and cheered as teachers played volleyball against one another.
In addition to watching over 30 teachers play volleyball, students were able to enter raffles to win prize baskets that had been donated by teachers. The grand prize, donated by Student Government, was the new Wii U.
To help make the night an enjoyable event, Elite Sounds generously donated DJ entertainment and a photo booth.
