
The Sachem East field hockey team won in convincing fashion in the Class A New York State semifinals on Saturday, beating Williamsville North, 6-0.
Playing at Cicero-North Syracuse High School, East improved its 2012 record to 21-0 and is one win away from capturing its second straight state championship.
The Arrows will play Liverpool, who beat Niskayuna, 3-2, today on penalty strokes, on Sunday in the final.
Katie and Cara Trombetta scored two goals each in the win.
Sachem East has not lost a game since Oct. 24, 2011, a stretch of 389 days and has won its last 28 games. That’s a mark of 42-1 over the last two years.
