After a long practice on the fields of Liverpool High School, a broken down bus en route to the hotel and Hurricane Sandy roaring up the coast, the Sachem Arrows Marching Band placed fourth out of the 11 bands in the Large School 3 Division at the Syracuse Carrier Dome Championship on Sunday, Oct. 28.
The Arrows received a score of 81.30.
The band checked out of the hotel early Sunday morning and was one of the last Long Island bands on the field at the Carrier Dome.
Students made it back to Sachem East by 1:00 a.m. as winds from Sandy were already blowing across the Tri-State area but everyone made it back safely, according to Marching Band Director George Machio.
